Sunday evening is the culimination of Euro 2008 with Germany and Spain competing in the final.

Spain have had a very successful tournament winning every game on their way to the final. Italy proved to be their toughest opponents and their quarter-final match had to be resolved by penalties. Germany, on the other hand, have been less entertaining and less convincing. They lost to Croatia to finish runners-up in Group D and narrowly beat Portugal in the quarter-finals. Germany had a tough time winning 3-2 against Turkey in the sem-finals whilst Spain eased past Russia with a 3-0 victory.

Spain go into the finals with the tag of being great under-achievers and there is a question mark over whether they can cast this unwelcome label aside. Germany, although having struggled to get this far, have a "winning mentality" according to their coach Joachim Low. There is no doubt that Germany will be tough opponents and in the end it may come down to which team believes they can win rather than their footballing skill.

Neutrals will be hoping for an open, attacking game and most, including Austrian fans, will be supporting Spain. Bookmakers, more hard-headed and financially driven, also favour Spain.
