Winners Are Grinners - Round 14 (Split Round)
Well for those of you who read last weeks edition of Winners Are Grinners you will allready understand this highly complex mathematical formula which is 22P+W=HDTP. For those of you who did not read it here is the simple explination, 22P (which means 22 players in a team) +W (which means win) = HDTP (which means high Dream Team Points). Basically it'sm saying that teams who win generally score higher dream team points. After an example? At the end of Round 13 Geelong averaged 1658 dream team points per game, Melbourne only averaged 1480. See, I'm right!
Okay so for this weekend's games, Adelaide vs Geelong and Sydney vs Colingwood, who's going to win? Who's does this give an opportunity to? Let's take a look.
Geelong vs Adelaide
The Cats clear favourties here with Mark Thompson today saying that Geeloong are starting to hit top form. Although the game is in Adelaide, Geelong go into the game $1.22 to $4.00 with the odds in their favour according to TAB Sportsbet. Okay so Geelong should win and if they do win, what does this mean? It means Geelong players will generally score better than their Crow opponents. Specifically the Geelong midfeild, Ablett, Bartel, Corey etc. Geelong winning would also mean that they would have held the Adelaide forwards (which they most likley will becasue they have arguabley the best backline in the comp) so Adelaide forwrads won't get as many points, finally with Geelong not having the best forward line in the competition don't count the Adelaide back flankers out yet, Bocky and Johncock could still go allright.
Sydney vs Collingwood
Sydney go into the second and final game of the weekend favourites $1.45 to $2.60 again according to TAB Sportsbet. However you would think that Collingwood would put up a fight and may not mean that Sydney will outscore them Dream team point wise. Expect good games from the usual suspects in the Collingwood and Sydney midfeild but the dream team point winner for the Swans may be Barry Hall up forward, he is in good form and the Collingwood defence may not be able to shut him down. Overall a tough game to judge but you would expect that both teams should score reasonabley well.
