Caesar's Palace. Justificativa: Show da Bette Midler, Seinfeld e CHER!!!!!!!!!!

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!

“What happens in Vegas”

What happens In Vegas

So today I watched the movie "What happens in Vegas". And this got me to thinking about why people go to Vegas. I am sure the reasons are many and varied. Obviously to gamble and have a bit of fun, and score with a hot blond if you can.

If people are gambling online, then one of the hardest challenges a developer faces is to make the experience as authentic and as entertaining as possible.

I guess serious gambler would be looking for a hard-core gaming experience, where as casual gamblers would be more focussed on the entertainment side of things.

Striking the right balance when developing for a PC is hard enough, but it's even harder when developing for a mobile phone. Typically the screen size is only 240x320, and you really need to be very creative in making it all fit in such a small space.

I don't think serious gamblers would not gamble on a mobile phone. The screen is small, the gaming experience to limiting and the overall experience not as much fun as on a PC.

I seriously think that the development should be focussed at the entertainment side of the scale. I may be wrong. We'll see.

What Happens In Vegas

When you got to the cinemas, you usually have to sit through 20 minutes of advertisments that you could see, without paying for them, on television. Following those are the film trailers for upcoming movies coming to cinemas later in the year, or ones which are already showing. When I seen the trailer for What Happens In Vegas, staring well known actress Cameron Diaz, 35, and heart-throb for the ladies, Ashton Kutcher, 30, I knew that it was a stupid storyline, and as I was sitting watching the trailer, I could predict the ending.

I have possibly never spent such as boring 2 hours of my life in a theatre. Apart from some good songs in the soundtrack and a talented lead actress, which the film doesn't deserve, this film hasn't nothing going for it. It's hardly entertaining storyline tells of two sets of friends going to Vegas to relieve them of their troubles, when Joy McNally (Diaz) and Jack Fuller (Kutcher) get drunk and get hitched. They reliase their mistake the morning after, but followed by some intense arguing, Jack puts Joy's quater into a slot machine and wins the massive jackpot of $3 million. When they both believe they are entitled the full amount of money, they try to get a divorce. The judge decides to make an example of them by forcing them to continue marriage for six months, and until they can get on, they can not get the divorce, or their money.

The film includes some jokes which are sure to make your sides split (and that statement is obviously sarcastic). I don't think there is one time I laughed during this film, and after the writers decide they have run out of jokes, they attempt to make the audience laugh by simply making the characters swear. Not only this, the multi-awarding actor Diaz looks even better performing along side Ashton Kutcher, one of the worst actors I've met. The only thing he is good for is Punk'd, something I actually enjoyed by him. In other words, stick to writing or moddeling, Ashton.

It ends with another, very predictable ending which will make you ask for a full two hours of your life back. There is a very important piece of advice I can give you regarding this film: do not see it! I'd be more entertained by the test card.

GOOD POINTS: Good Soundtrack, Talented Lead Actress

BAD POINTS: Bad Story, Untallented Lead Actor, Waste Of Two Hours Of Your Life

FINAL RATING: 2/5

What happens in Vegas …

\'Fantasy\' dancers from Luxor... stays in this blog, OK?

I was there last weekend, my fourth visit to the area, and things were relatively tame. I stayed at the Tropicana and cruised (half of) the strip.

OK, the big sin comes first.  The pic you see above is of three of the seven topless dancers from "Fantasy," a high-end topless musical being performed at the Luxor casino. (This is post-performance.) It was my first such show since seeing "Folies Bergere" in 1995. Hey, there were plenty of respectable females in the audience, OK? Bravo.

My favorite venue was Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville cafe, part of the Flamingo casino on the Strip. Like me, Buffett is a journalism school grad, but he has quite a bit more money. LOL!

The weather was pleasant. Spring or fall would be the best times to visit Sin City.

Some trivia:

--Michael Jackson has moved to Vegas, per the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

--$100 is the lowest common denominator for ATMs in Vegas.

--Tropicana has swim-up blackjack.

--Charles, a bartender at Caesars Palace, was born in France.

Bye for now ...
