Watching the movie "21" brought back memories of the good old days... Having personally practised card counting, i know it works. I made a decent profit of more than $6k with an initial capital of $500. This was accomplished with a mere $1 units, making it a ROI of >6000%.
Right now my husband is faking our dog out by "throwing" popcorn but not really throwing it. My dog is currently searching for the popcorn that isn't there. Poor thing. My husband is laughing and throwing, laughing and throwing Oh, he just threw an actual piece. I think that was a pity piece. Sort of felt sorry for the pup.
So... yah... iced my shins tonight. Neat.

So since it's ten till one a.m. I have 10 minutes till bedtime so I thought, "why not blog?"
So our dog who ate the rotten, composted grass...
well this morning I let him out to potty but I couldn't keep an eye on him but I thought...oh I'll check on him it a bit...you know because I didn't want him eating from the pile of compost formally known as grass shavings...
oops I forgot about him during my hustle bustle of a morning....
So about 15-20 minutes I look outside. He's not by the pile, rather he's over to the side of the yard with his nose in the grass...he's licking it I think...
well then next to where he's licking is this ginormous pile of black mystery stuff...which I conclude is either digested, puked up or pooped up, compost-formally-known-as-grass-shavings-rotten stuff...
So then I'm thinking what is he licking???
I dont' EVEN want to know...I yell at him to get his butt over here and get in the house you sick nasty disgusting dog you...uh...and then he comes in and i put him in his crate because I don't want his tongue or any part of his stubby little big body coming near me...
So later I go check out the piles. The ginormous one, well I still can't figure out if it was pooped out or puked out, but it's very similiar in texture and color and substance to the compost pile... the second pile was...oh what a sweet dog I have... a smaller version of the first pile. So he was basically re-eating whatever just came out of him that was originally-- pre-digestion --already rotten, decaying, nastified grass (this pile of old grass shavings is black by the way...no green grass color in sight...

1. Leave the lucky rabbit’s foot or miniature frog at home
If you ever want to make money gambling, you have to forget about all superstition. I know its fun to think that my miniature frog will somehow align the stars to give me gambling prosperity, but it wont.
I recently saw a really decent gambling movie called “21”. My expectations weren’t too high, but they were far exceeded.
The plot is that an intelligent student joins a school club that trains in cheating Blackjack casino systems. Our “hero” only has small experience in playing, but since he has a sharp mind he slowly catches up. The math that the members of the club pull off is really something, and with those skills they are able to win absurd amounts of cash. Naturally, though, this has a dark side to it. Their lifestyle is far from safe and they start to get different sorts of enemies, even among them. Actually they are leading a kind of double life, where school is their scene on the weekdays, while Las Vegas is their destination come the weekend. There they can afford to live in a way far beyond imagination, with enormous hotel suites, expensive clothes, expensive food, huge parties, room service and so on.
Their leader, and teacher, is played by Kevin Spacey who does his part brilliantly, as he always does. That actor really has a wide register, in which he knows how to play warm, ice cold, funny, scary and so on. It took me some time to realize it, but fact of the matter is that he has already played a University magister earlier, in the movie “Life of David Gale”. That is also a really nice film, I reckon.
He has also played against Kate Bosworth earlier, in the movie “Beyond the sea”, which he does again in this piece. She plays one of the students.
Another of the actors are Laurence Fishburne, most famous for his role in the Matrix movies. However, the actor that impressed me the most in this film was Jim Sturgess, who plays the leading role. Previously he has mainly done TV productions, but now he is considered one of the rising stars in Hollywood. I loved how his character completely changed during the course of the movie. He went from a geek with no style to a cocky, modern man with nothing to lose.
I haven’t played a lot of card games myself, though I like a lot. Even still, I really liked the scenes in which they play Blackjack. The rules aren’t that hard, yet it is amazing to see what they do when they are cheating. Actually, this is based on a true story, where a group of A-students trained themselves in tricking the system.
All in all, I really recommend it!
